Well Bar Logo Beijing

Well Bar has made use of an old firefighting water well and turned it into an outdoor beer bar. Shady trees, ice-cold 1949 beer. Perfect for daytime leisure or late-night stargazing. Well Bar is a fleeting moment. Perhaps it’s why the bar does such a good job. In a few months it is not going to be here. “This is just a temporary fixture. During the winter, it’s going to be too cold to have an outdoor bar in Beijing,” says Danny Chang, bar manager. “We’ll open it back up in the spring, but in the meantime we’re planning to set up a terrace bar on the second floor with heating.”

Situated around the grass courtyard of 1949—The Hidden City, the Well Bar is built directly over a well that was once used to put out fires in the area. The neon circular bar dotted with cushioned seats and bar stools on its grassy knoll seems like a small amphitheater for the live music one can catch on the weekends. Featuring seven different kinds of mojitos (¥45), 11 kinds of martinis (¥59) and five kinds of slings—take note of the Singapore Sling (¥79)—Well Bar places tremendous importance on the quality of its libations.
